Beauty Bakes: Winter Wind Rescue

Winter is surely on it’s way!  I am so excited for this holiday season.  However, the weather is drying out my skin and making my lips so chapped!  The other day, much to my dismay, my skin started stinging when I applied my Neutrogena face moisturizer!

Something had to be done!

I went out and looked at good quality face moisturizing creams and masks…which all cost somewhere between $25-$50.  I wasn’t really too excited to spend that much money for some chemicals in a bottle.

So, I decided to try making my own moisturizing mask.  I went down to lunch (I live in my sorority house and we have a chef that prepares our weekly meals) and the food today was Mexican.  Fantastic.

I took a bowl and grabbed everything I needed, raced upstairs, and made a great mask with just a few simple ingredients.  It worked like a charm.  My face is no longer burning and dry.  It has been rescued from this weather!

Here’s what I did…

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp avocado
  • 1 tbsp sour cream
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions:

Mix together all of the ingredients.  Apply to a clean face.  Leave on for about 20 minutes.  Rinse with warm water and a towel.

Viola!  A refreshing moisture treatment!
